Külkedisi Masalı ( Cinderella Story )
Bir zamanlar, güzeller güzeli bir kız varmış. Annesi ölünce babası yeniden evlenmiş. Üvey annesi de ilk evliliğinden olan iki kızıyla birlikte gelip eve yerleşmiş. Bu iki kız, yeni kız kardeşlerinden hiç hoşlanmamış. Odasında ne var ne yoksa tavan arasına fırlatıp atmışlar. Ona bir kardeş gibi davranmak şöyle dursun, bütün ev işlerini üzerine yıkmışlar. Ev işleri bittikten sonra bile kızın onlarla oturmasına izin verilmiyormuş. Akşamları, mutfakta, sönmekte olan ocağın önünde duruyormuş tek başına, ellerini küllere doğru tutup ısınmaya çalışarak. Bu yüzden üvey kız kardeşleri ona “Külkedisi” adını takmışlar.
-Once upon a time, there was a beautiful girl. When her mother died, her father remarried. He came and settled in the house. These two girls didn’t like their new sisters at all. They threw it in the attic of whatever was in the room. They stopped all household chores, no matter how they treated him like a brother. Even after the housework was finished, the girl was not allowed to sit with them. In the evening, in the kitchen, raising their hands, trying to keep them warm. That’s why his half-sisters named him “Cinderella”.
Bir gün iki kız kardeşe sarayda verilecek bir balo için davetiye gelmiş. İkisi de heyecandan deliye dönmüşler. Herkes Prens’in evlenmek istediğini biliyormuş. ‘Bakarsın ikimizden birini seçer, belli mi olur?’ diye düşünmüşler. İki kız kardeş de kendilerini mümkün olduğunca güzelleştirmek için hemen kolları sıvamışlar. Fakat maalesef bu biraz zormuş, çünkü Külkedisi’nin aksine bayağı çirkinmiş her ikisi de! Balo akşamı, üvey kardeşleri gittikten sonra Külkedisi mutfakta oturmuş ve için için ağlamaya başlamış. “Neyin var, neden ağlıyorsun Külkedisi?” diye sormuş bir kadın sesi. “Ben de baloya gitmek istiyordum,” demiş hıçkırarak Külkedisi. “Gideceksin öyleyse,” demiş ses.
-One day, an invitation came to two sisters for a prom in the palace. They both went crazy with excitement. Everyone knew that the Prince wanted to get married. They thought, “You see, he chooses one of us, is it certain?” The two sisters immediately rolled up their sleeves to make them as beautiful as possible. Unfortunately, this was a bit difficult because unlike Cinderella, they were both pretty ugly! On the prom evening, after her half-brothers left, Cinderella sat in the kitchen and started to cry. “What have you, why are you crying Cinderella?” a woman’s voice asked. “I wanted to go to the ball, too,” said Cinderella with hiccups. “Then you will go,” said the voice.
Külkedisi duyduğu sese doğru dönüp bakmış, şaşkınlıktan donakalmış. Güzel bir kadın duruyormuş yanı başında. “Ben senin peri annenim,” demiş kadın. “Şimdi kaybedecek zamanımız yok! Bana bir bal kabağı getir hemen!” Külkedisi bir bal kabağı getirmiş. Peri annesi sihirli değneğiyle dokununca, bal kabağı birdenbire altından bir fayton oluvermiş. “Şimdi de altı fare…” Külkedisi altı fare bulup getirmiş, peri annesi onları hemen ata dönüştürmüş. “Bir sıçan…” Onu da arabacı yapmış. külkedisi“Ve altı kertenkele…” Onları da faytonun arkasında koşacak altı uşağa çevirivermiş. Nihayet Külkedisi’ne gelmiş sıra. Peri değneğiyle bir dokununca Külkedisi’nin yırtık, pırtık giysileri nefesleri kesecek harika bir elbiseye dönmüşmüş. Ayaklarında bir çift camdan ayakkabı pırıl pırıl parlıyormuş.
-Cinderella turned and stared at the sound she heard, froze in surprise. A beautiful woman was standing beside her. “I am your fairy mother,” said the woman. “We don’t have time to waste now! Bring me a pumpkin! ” Cinderella brought a pumpkin. When the fairy touched her mother with her magic wand, the pumpkin was suddenly a carriage in gold. “Now six mice…” Cinderella found six mice and brought them to her, her fairy mother immediately turned them into horses. “A rat…” The coachman made him too. Cinderella “And six lizards…” He translated them into six servants who would run behind the phaeton. Finally it’s time for Cinderella. Tapping with a fairy wand, Cinderella’s torn and tattered clothes turned into a wonderful dress that would take your breath away. A pair of glass shoes were shining brightly on their feet.
“Bir şey var yalnız,” demiş Peri. “Gece yarısına kadar eve dönmelisin. Saat on ikide elbisen tekrar eski giysilerine, faytonun bal kabağına, atların fareye dönüşecek. Prens’in bunu görmesini istemezsin herhalde? Şimdi git, dilediğince eğlen.”
-“There is something alone,” said the Fairy. “You have to go home until midnight. At twelve o’clock your dress will turn into old clothes, carriage of pumpkin and mice of horses. You probably don’t want the Prince to see this? Now go and have fun as you wish. ”
O gece Külkedisi balonun yıldızı olmuş. Baloya katılan hanımlar (özellikle de iki üvey kız kardeşi) onun elbisesini çok beğenmişler ve terzisinin adını öğrenmek için ona yalvarmışlar. Beyefendilerin hepsi onunla dans etmek için birbirleriyle yarışmışlar. Prens ise götür görmez ona aşık olmuş! Ve o andan sonra hiç kimseye bu kızla dans etmek için izin verilmemiş.
-That night Cinderella became the star of the balloon. The ladies attending the ball (especially her two half sisters) liked her dress very much and begged him to learn the name of his tailor. The gentlemen all competed to dance with him. The Prince fell in love with him as soon as he saw it! And after that moment no one was allowed to dance with this girl.
Saatler saatleri, dakikalar dakikaları kovalamış ve Külkedisi saat tam on ikiyi vuracağı sırada evde olması gerektiğini hatırlamış. “Gitme!” diye seslenmiş Prens arkasından, ama Külkedisi bir an bile durmadan koşup oradan uzaklaşmış. Sokağa çaktığında elbisesi tekrar eski elbiselerine dönüşmüş. Geriye kala kala camdan ayakkabıların bir teki kalmış. Diğer tekini nerede kaybettiğini bilmiyormuş.
-Hours followed hours, minutes and minutes, and Cinderella remembered that he should be home when the clock hits twelve. “Do not go!” shouted the Prince behind him, but Cinderella ran for a moment and walked away. When she hit the street, her dress turned back into her old clothes. All that remains is a glass of shoes. He didn’t know where he lost the other one.
O gece Külkedisi uyuyana kadar ağlamış. Hayatının bir daha asla o geceki kadar harika olamayacağını düşünüyormuş. Ama bu doğru değilmiş. Ayakkabının diğer tekini sarayın merdivenlerinde bulmuşlar. Ertesi sabah Prens ev ev dolaşıp ayakkabıyı tek tek bütün genç kızlara denetmiş. “Bu ayakkabının dün gece karşılaştığım güzel sahibini bulamazsam yaşayamam,” demiş. Derken Külkedisi’nin evine gelmiş. Üvey kardeşleri ayakkabıyı denemişler, olmamış. Ayaklarına girmemiş bile.
-That night Cinderella cried until she slept. He thought that his life would never be as great as that night. But this was not true. They found the other one of the shoes on the stairs of the palace. The next morning, the Prince walked home and checked the shoes one by one for all the young girls. “I can’t live if I can’t find the beautiful owner of this shoe I met last night,” he said. Then he came to Cinderella’s house. His half-brothers tried the shoes, not it. He hasn’t even gotten on his feet.
Prens çok üzgünmüş, çünkü uğramadığı sadece birkaç ev kalmış. Tam oradan ayrılacakken evin hizmetçisi dikkatini çekmiş. “Hanımefendi,” demiş Prens Külkedisi’ne, “bir de siz deneseniz?” “O mu deneyecek? Ne münasebet!” diye haykırmış üvey kardeşler. Fakat Prens ısrar etmiş. Külkedisi’nin ne kadar güzel bir kız olduğu gözünden kaçmamış. Tabii ayakkabı Külkedisi’nin ayağına kalıp gibi oturmuş. Prens diz çöküp Külkedisi’ne evlenme teklif ederken iki üvey kardeşe de öfke ve kıskançlıkla olanları seyretmek kalmış. Külkedisi Prens’in teklifini tabii ki kabul etmiş.
-The prince was very upset because there are only a few houses left. He did not see how beautiful Cinderella was. Of course, the shoe fits like Cinderella’s mold. While the Prince kneels and proposes to Cinderella, it is up to both the brothers to watch what happens with anger and jealousy. Of course Cinderella accepted the Prince’s offer.
